On Sunday, November 15, a team from the World Boxing Council MuayThai headquarters in Bangkok hosted a bilateral digital gathering with their counterparts in the Russian city of Nizhny Novgorod, located a short drive west of Moscow. The meeting was billed as a workshop to promote youth empowerment through being active in both body and mind, encouraging self thought, and improving on personal and interpersonal skills under the banner of the WBC MuayThai Youth Cares program.

The event was held simultaneously at two locations, the WBC MuayThai head office in Bangkok and the Pancher MuayThai gym in Nizhny, Novgorod with the benefits of modern technology connecting both parties with proceedings gladly enjoyed by WBC MuayThai President, Pol. General Kovid Bhakdibhumi.

Moreover, there were over 50 young Russian MuayThai enthusiasts partake in the day’s festivities with MuayThai superstars Yodwicha Yodwicha gym and Sittichai Sitsongpeenong leading a workshop ? from Bangkok ? on basic MuayThai techniques to the next generation in Russia, led by WBC MuayThai representative for Russia, Mr. Alexey Fursov.

The overall message and theme of the successful event were to highlight the value in being physically through sport and to show that MuayThai is a sport for the people, by the people, with its origins steeped in Thai history, with a clear message that the WBC MuayThai will continue to promote it around the world.

For those who were participating in this activity via a video conference are Ms. Jade Bhakdibhumi ,the Founder and Chairwoman of the WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares, Mr. Matthew Deane, the WBC Muay Thai Youth Cares Ambassador, Mr. Pholritti Phanphakdee, the Chair of the Medical Committee of the WBC Muay Thai, Ms. Oksana Semenishinaa, WBC boxing International Secretary, Mr. Maxim Vinogradov the President of the Muay Thai Federation of Nizhny Novgorod, Dr. Zhelezin Oleg Velerievich the Professor of Sports Medicine of the Russian Union who lectured to educate the youth regarding how to play sports safely for their growing bodies by promoting the use of protective equipment in Muay Thai sports.
