According to Association of Neurological Surgeons, nearly 90 percent of boxers suffer from brain injuries as a result of their career. To worsen the matter, the tragic news of the 13-year-old boxer Anucha Thasako evoked controversial sparks amongst the sports industry. Unfortunately, this type of incident is not uncommon. Many young boys at the age of 11 and older who come from underprivileged backgrounds, especially in Thailand, participate in boxing mainly to support their own education as well as their family. Consequently, they commit the majority of their time pursuing professional fighting which result in the loss of focus in school. Anucha?s death is the signal that induces our determination to immediately take action to completely annihilate this vicious cycle.
